Recent Shores Resort Review: "We made reservations online for two days starting that very day. I didn't know what to expect, but the hotel exceeded every one of my expectations.
The lobby is very nice, they have a large salt water pool which is very relaxing and warm, and they are literally right on the ocean. Our room had an unusual decor that made it feel more like a bed and breakfast than a large resort which I found very nice.
We ate at the hotel's restaurant, Azure, for four meals during our stay. Our first breakfast is what sold me. I had the french toast served with fresh berries, whipped cream, and topped with a peach compote. It was, without a doubt, the best french toast I've ever had. The peach compote was simply amazing. We had it again the next day and it wasn't quite as good, but it was still very tasty.
We had lunch there the second day which was nice, but nothing too amazing. It was served to us in the pool so I didn't quite expect too much. We had dinner there that evening as well and the mahi mahi and grouper were both good. The only drawback was the serving sizes were quite small. Our blue crab cake appetizer was $14 and was literally a disk two inches in radius. It was good, but $14 is a bit much. The entrees were around $27 and were quite small as well, but it is a fancier place for dinner so that is understandable.
I would heartily recommend the breakfast where you can get a delicious french toast or belgian waffle for $10. You won't be disappointed!
Overall, our stay was amazing and I would gladly stay there again. The pool was great. The rooms and acoomodations were excellent and clean. The restaurant was great for a hotel. Very impressive for a last minute stay!"
